So tried to play this last night and after another big update it stopped working

I think it is now version 10 and some of the mods i was running don't seem to work the end result is that i can't get my save game to work so i might have to start yet another game argh

I might just do a vanilla campaign as i really want to finish the game.  I hope we can get our game to work

You Gregged it up. That'l teach you to mod a game to the high-heavens and expect it to work when patches are being released.

Rome wasn’t patched in a day.

In that case I am going to have to disable the net and finish my Sparta game before I let it do an update.

Thanks for the heads up about the update buggering up the game. I managed to stop the update and capture about 99% of the provinces so just one more session to fully take over the map before I apply the update.

It must be a serious ball ache that you haven’t managed to get one campaign done because of the constant patching.

Yes it really is i started again last night as Rome i will keep that a vanilla campaign to make sure i can complete it

I think our multiplayer campaign may be boned until the mods have been updated

i did a system restore to try and get back to 9 but Steam wouldn't have it and after all my efforts i am still stuck with 10.  On a side note the new patch does have lots of fixes and new things like 4 turns per year so it will be worth having

Finish your game then update if the mods aren't updated soon we will have to start again you can just disable your mods and if they update it will tell you.  I have deleted all my mods so you will have to tell me which ones we had running

Think I am going to give up on this for a bit. After your heads up I managed to disable the update and continue with my game. Got to the point that all I needed to do was invade the UK. I went to play it yesterday and it refused to let me launch the game until it had been updated, at which point it fucked up my save.

Do you fancy having a go at company of heroes 2 instead?

Just been checking they have done lots of fixes and have removed the unit cap on Sparta :-)

A lot of AI improvements you may need to change your tactics Greg

Nice one on Sparta, you going to get the 300 mod again?
Bit of a fucker about the fact they no longer sit there and take it like a bitch when you are hurling missiles at them.

I think we should just go vanilla after what happened last time with the mods

At least for a while we can always save it and put some mods after we have a good foothold it will save doing all the boring early bit again

You could be Macedonia they are quite good from memory we could go Greek :-)

It would be better if we started as two factions near each other so we can link up quick and have one safe front as the AI does tend to gang up on you

Good idea on the adjacent placement, it was a bit tricky whilst I was waiting for us to link up last time. We can just expand left and right again like last time I suppose.

Have to give me report on what they have changed tomorrow. You could always put on the infinite resource/happiness/research mod and shoot through the first bit of the  quickly to get a feel for it.

The AI are a lot tougher and in a battle i played last night they reinforced 2 units that were just about to loss the gate before they would have just sat back and watched

There are quite a few little changes but i didn't play it long enough to see them all a definate improvement
