I see what you mean. My thought process was that if I know the primary army will be attacked first (or is the one doing the attacking) I can see where the artillery will enter and move the more mobile force to them. I found having it all mixed up meant a dilution of the artillery if the reinforcements entered from an odd angle.
Also it is a total bitch that you can’t get horses or artillery off of the ships. I find it makes no sense to assault by sea. On the flip side I suppose if you had a third light flexible force come in by sea you could land wherever and really cause some trouble.
