After we got Dyson fucking medicine cabinet sorted out we were not on a lot longer than you.
Lol, "at least we know where the medicine is now". :-) Just means you have to take a bath to use it.
We moved the last of the supplies from the small boxes and demolished them. There is only a small amount of organising to do now so we can continue our brass hunt.
That's good, it was getting a bit out of hand with all 3 of us just dumping shit anywhere we could find a space. When we do a server reset, at least we will know what to do and be a bit mroe organised in future.
On that note I checked the net yesterday and the only way to get brass is to scavenge it so I am not sure than making our own bullets is a good long term strategy.
Hmmm. Maybe that will change in the future. Even shotgun shells require paper - which I think you can only find in loot. TNT requires paper too. Am I mistaken? Can you craft paper yet? So.... is there any ammo in the game (other than arrows) that you can craft without scavenging?

We shall see then. If you start disconnecting every 5 minutes while playing online games, give Virgin as much shit as they deserve and they may let you leave. I would still recommend doing so when you can anyway because you won't be able to host any form of online game in a stable fashion. I hate to say it, but even Greg's connection would do a better job than shitty Virgin. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Not as far as I am aware, I think that after a while even arrows are depended on zombie drops to get feathers.

I think my mission tonight is going to be to leg it over to grid -1,-2 with some supplies and begin building a new, tidy base, like the one I posted - which we can eventually join up underground with out existing one. This may also give us a heads up as to if it's a good locale or not.

Only problem with that is since the map is screwed, it will be very difficult to judge where the hell it is.

My mission tonight is to paint the utility area and build a shelf for the tumble dryer that is arriving on Saturday :-(

Good session last night with the G-Man. We managed to make it to our new home and began work on a base of ultimate epicness.

The locale is great, since it's near a lake, Gravetown and the desert - so nothing is too far away.

We made the first few rooms, including the "main/common" room, storage room "b", and part of the crafting room. Due to the size at which we made storage room "b", we opted to only have one storage room for the time being, and made storage room "a" into a little pond instead. It's looking rather good already - and very organised.

We then started work on a farm. We had a think about where to put it, and opted to actually make one in the lake. Weird, but surprisingly good idea. I drafted up a temporary one in the shape of a horseshoe, then we got to work building a kind of boardwalk over the lake, which we filled with water and placed dirt around to plant blueberries. It's nothing short of engineering genius, and means there is room for expansion and water right there if you need it. It's in a kind of cross shape, with a walkway down the middle and bridge over the main "pond" area, meaning you have two sides of crops wherever you walk. You have to see it for yourself, but it's genius.

One day we made a dash to Gravetown for supplies and found loads of good stuff, including an Auger and a Sniper Rifle :-)

Apart from a little incident I had, it was a textbook building session and I look forward to expanding and then making my way to the desert area for sand.

The one incident in question was one night, early on when I decided to quickly nip to the entrance to add in some stone stairs. I started at the bottom, then walked up adding them. I reached the top and of course, zombies were everywhere so I turned around to run back down. Unfortunately, I had not made a high enough ceiling at the passageway, and putting down the stairs meant I could not get back down. I shouted for help and the G-Man ran up to assist me. He then also got stuck. We decided that one of us should dig back down while the other covers their back. We did finally make it back down again, but I only just survived it.

On another note, the map seems to correct itself as you move away from where we were - much to my confusion when I realised that where I wanted to go was not where I thought it would be. So, our new base is actually where it should be on the map. Quite where the map suddenly corrects itself, I don't know - but it's a good thing.

Good game, good game ;-)

Looks like you have found a use for the Gman at least. Prior to this his only use was to sit in holes in order to fill them.

Jen wants to have a go tonight so I might pike some of your ideas.

If you left your Rome obsession alone for a while, you could have been playing it before you moved ;-).

The ceiling is done (insulation and plasterboard), going to start work on the walls this weekend.

Indeed, without him I would have died at the entrance to our base.

Go for it Greg. I take it there is no chance of getting her on the server then? Should I give up asking you? ;-)

Yea I think we can both save our breath with regards to getting her on the server.

If I get a chance tonight I will hop on and check out your latest creations.

Okey dokey Gregularse. FYI: the entrance to the base is at the lake - like what we did with the other lake one. See this map
this map

, I have marked its rough location.

Remember, it actually IS here on your overland map.

the work in progress

the work in progress<br>

a hack of your previous base plan with, er, what actually happened...

I was making it all nice and cosy last night, went out in the morning to go grab myself some berries and there was a bloated policeman halfway down the access tunnel destroying blocks.

And a smelly cheerleader got herself stuck on the blueberry platform and trampled a bit of it.

however, seems you can make concrete from the cinder blocks scattered around, and i made a trip to the forest to get some unburned wood to make sticks, camp fires etc.

found a cooking pot on the way, which was nice...

Nice try G-Man, but you cannot simply put a link on the website to a file on your computer. X_X Try uploading it and sharing the link it gives you.

i was trying to be lazy - on some websites it determines you're being dumb and sorts out the uploading and saving to server with the local address you give it.

i think...

Much better ;-)

Ah cool, it's coming along nicely! I will be around tonight - about 7:30ish if you fancy a go. My plan was to start mining towards the desert for sand. What's this cinder block all bout? I do not recall seeing that one before.

We may have to put some more doors nearer the entrance to stop them coming down then, by the looks of things. Maybe a door at the entrance to the farm too - to stop them trampling our crops :-)

well, i started to collect all the cinder blocks from the surface, and collect all the brown grass, so as it was more difficult for zed to sneak up on you.

i then wondered if cinder block can be broken down, turns out, 1 cinder block pile makes 1 concrete so, actually a worth while harvestable resource...

blueberry platform and entrance could do with a proper zed proof entrance - when they have proper pathfinding in later releases we could come a cropper not protecting the entrance. might go see how deep they've got overnight above us too.

i shall be about around that time i should think, is original greg onboard? i assume max's tinterwebs is still playing up?
