...all this awesomeness, then I got lost and couldn't find my base.

Looks like you have a handle on the basics, cool you can tell us what to do. It does seem odd that with all the hi-tech stuff in the screen shots that you are made of wood. O and TCT for the most generous gift, I was moved to tears followed shortly by fouling myself.

It's pretty straight forward currently so I am happy to impart what little knowledge I have gained thus far. Yes, the wood armour baffled me a bit too. It was the only armour I had a blueprint for.

The game is a bit of a RAM hog at the moment too. I clocked it at using over 5GB for the main game and the server used 2GB.

Mission accomplished then. I hope you enjoy many happy hours pondering the age-old question "Do bad rats take revenge?" and "Why the fuck did Jegory buy me this piece of shit?".

Cool, I found my base again, did a dungeon and got a few resources. I also started putting landmarks near the base with signposts to hopefully make it easier to find when we go off adventuring. To this end, I built a flare and locator - 2 things you guys will wanna build ASAP when you get on, as they make locating stuff so much easier.

I will leave it there until Friday now, when you guys get on - although the server is up if you fancy a go before-hand.

Cool. I thought I would just start it up yesterday to see how it ran and join some random world. But after 5 minutes of waiting for various shitty bits to download and bits of the world to load I gave up and went to bed. Do you have to go through that protracted loading procedure every time you start?

No, you don't from what I have seen - although the first load of a "world" does seem to take some time.

Once you have it it seems to connect a lot faster next time. It's very early days for the game still - they haven't even got UI to enter a server password yet!

This what i meant about the base when we started building it

base
base

Not as big but with a few legs lifting it clear off the ground but building is a bit of a bitch and the fact you can't undo/delete blocks atm is annoying

I see where you are going with that, just don't understand how the bloody bridges work - whenever I tried doing that with them it kept putting them on the floor.

We started another one next to a really good dungeon - hence the new cordinates. I went on a blueprint mission yesterday and got some cool stuff that I am in the process of building:

Complete set of fossil armour
Ore Chest Armor and boots
Gem Sword

To that end, I have almost completed work on a 1-click maintenance thing for the game server, which will allow me to do this remotely, via my phone. It will perform the following:

1. Backup game data.
2. Stop server
3. Update server
4. Start server

...so I will then not mind so much if you guys ask me to do this - since it will be a piece of piss and will take me seconds. :-)

I will hopefully test it tonight or tomorrow and will let you know when it's working.

Well TCT for that. I have currently released it as freeware. I slung it on the Steam forums and this Grav one for people to use. It's under the "files" section of this website if you are at all interested - here.

It would be nice to sell it, but given the kind of stuff people do / get for free on PC these days, it hardly seemed worthwhile. Anyway, as long as it helps us out, that's really all that matters.
