This might be worth a look. It looks surprisingly good and gets good reviews across the board. Co-op, survival, space - all the hallmarks for a winner.

The sale brings it down to 10 squid. This one has literally just been released as EA, so I expect it may be a little buggy. However, it does look awesome so I am torn whether to shell out a tenner this early... what you reckon guys?

Just thought I would add another thing: I was doing a little digging and it looks like this game is also quite similar to Planet Explorers. As such, that may also be worth a look. As to which one to go for though, I have no idea - they both look really good and I think they would both be perfect co-op games.

Check out the insanely interesting and cool looking crafting
of Planet Explorers - you can build weapons, vehicles, bases....it's like Garry's mod style. hmmmm decisions time.

They do indeed both look good, hence my trouble deciding. Given I have no idea which one to go for, I defer the decision, because IATSOP. Since cash is very tight for me ATM, I don't want to waste 10-20 squid for myself or you guys. Egg will literally cut off my balls if I buy either of these at the moment.

I instantly thought of those vehicles in Star Wars when I saw it.

So, are we any closer to deciding which one is worth our money?

Not sure myself, Grav looks better generally to me, but the crafting system and ability to make vehicles looks like it would give planet explorers more legs.

I might see if I can find a demo or something. But I suppose that is an outdated idea these days, just put out an unfinished game and make us buy it to find out its not finished.

You got that right. I miss the days of demo disks and the like, when you knew before buying from first hand experience that you would like the game. These days we throw away money at lazy devs in the slight hope that the game may me good without really knowing what to expect. Early access has only made this worse - since it gives them an excuse for putting out bad games.

Anyway, rant over. I will hold off on these two until we find some more info. I will also wear a bra and smoke a cigar in a car with jafaar.

FYI: Just posted this and this on the Grav and Planet Explorers Steam forums...

You read my mind! I was just typing up this when I saw your post...

What I have managed to glean from those forum posts so far:

- Grav is more action orientated and faster paced.
- Planet Explorers has a more in-depth and highly customisable crafting mechanic.
- They liken Grav to Rust (survival sandbox style) and Planet Explorers to Garrys Mod/Minecraft-Sci-Fi style (pretty much what I was hoping Starforge would be).
- Planet Explorers doesn't have much to "do" as of yet, after you hit the mined-everything-and-created-everything-in-sight milestone. Grav has dungeons and levelling and lots of content.
- Grav is "younger" and apparently has some "server issues" at present.
- Planet Explorers has a big modding scene - with shareable creations.
- Grav is half the price of Planet Explorers (at present, during the sale).
- Grav has multiple "static" worlds. Planet Explorers has randomly generated, alterable terrain, like 7DTD.

So, with that in mind, how's about this: We buy Grav now while it's on sale and stick Planet Explorers on the wishlist. We can then get Planet Explorers when it's next on sale. Thoughts?

Did you get it downloaded? Are we going to be giving this a go Friday (assuming I can sort out the server password issue)?

Yep got it on DL. I didn't see how far it has got yesterday but I will have a look tonight and leave it running overnight if need be.
