Thought I would start this topic so we can all share our greatest achievements in KSP. Mine being that I just this minute landed safely on the Mun for the first time! Wohoo! I even have enough fuel for a return journey. Check out the pictures of this monumental moment here.

A weekend of firsts for me - I just made a safe landing on Minimus! Screenshots are up, along with the Mun ones so just use the link above.

EDIT: Just added a video of one of my trips to the moon to the video section as well. This particular one was in the pitch black dark side of the moon and was successful! Woot! :-)

Well thank-you-cheers-tar for that. I am definitely getting the hang of landing. My next step is some form of space station. I have heard docking is a PITA.

Won't be on tonight - it's Game of Thrones day Maximus ;-)

What's wrong with FRAPS? But yes, if you feel the need to use Steam then you can.

You can't put it in the gallery. You can upload by going to "Account>Upload Image" and shoving it there.

It will then give you a link to the image (and even a nice formatted link for the forums), so you can copy-paste the link in a forum post. Simples ;-)

I got my little guys to the Mun!

Twice in fact i also had a go at the Minus but missed it twice but i did have plenty of fuel so it will be easy if i can get the angle of orbit right :-)

Excellent! Well done Mark. So you did an exact copy of my craft lol. As far as Minimus goes, it does not matter if you miss it or not, all you have to do is set yourself up for a reverse orbit and you will hit it eventually.

Check out this
this

amazing diagram I did for you Maxi-Mouse ;-)

Oh just a quick suggestion about screenshots - it may be better to save and upload them as jpegs, because bmps are uncompressed and huge in filesize.

EDIT: I just converted them for you. If you were using FRAPS, just set it to save to jpegs. ;-)

Yes it is pretty much a copy of yours but then we did develope them sat next to each other they were pretty similar.

I took the design i had at yours and just slapped more rockets all round it which seemed to work.

I will put a guy on Minus with this design and then back to the drawing board because after Minus i want to go to Eve :-). This will take a much larger vessel but should be fun. I just need to read up on orbit transfer which is a little confusing.

About screen shots fair point i didn't even look at the format i will do it in JPG from now on.

Thank you cheers tar for the diagram makes it a lot simplier

Successfully managed to build a space station (named Brickage Space Station ;-)), launch it into stable orbit and finally dock a spaceship at it! Screenshots are viewable here. Docking is indeed a right PITA and I wasted a ton of fuel messing around until I finally did it - but at least I have a basic feel for it now.

Additional note: I found you can press F2 to hide your HUD and take some nice pics ;-)

Most impressive James i will be on tonight if you are about.

I will be attempting to land on Minus but first have to master orbit transfer!

Cool, you don't need to worry on Minmus as it orbits Kerbin. It's pretty much the same as the Mun, just further away. Orbit transfer only comes in to play for the other actual planets, like Eve and Duna AFAIK.

I think I will try Duna (Mars) next, or work on expanding my space station.

Sterling work Gregory, you have pretty much got to where I was last time I played it.

My next step was to put a fuel station in orbit around the moon to refuel a LEM and undertake practice landings and lunar docking in preparation for some trips further out.

What is your next scheme?

Actually Greg, that sounds like an awesome idea. The station I created had a massive full fuel tank for refuelling, but putting one around the Mun sounds like quite a challenge so I may indeed try that.

For expanding space stations, do you have to do it bit by bit, with the docking ports?

As far as I know yes, I kept building bits and trying to drag as much fuel up with me as possible each time, then send the excess back down to Kerbin so I didn't end up with thousands of Kerbals on-board.

I version I was playing made it very difficult to get empty seats in the capsules so it was tricky to undertake rescues if one got stranded. Have they addressed that now?
