So, what did you think of your first play on Void Expanse? Sorry I was not more involved, but not being able to be on Mumble made it difficult - I will be on proper tonight, but do plan on some mining to get some dollar together.

Yes i enjoyed it was good fun i should be on tonight for a bit so hopefully we can group up and do a few missions

I have a question i bought this freighter as it was cheap and has over 4 times my current cargo capacity so i could do some mining for dollar but when you swap hulls you other one seems to stay at the station?

Is there a way to take your hulls with you or do you have to remember where all your ships are?

Yeah, unfortunately the hulls are too big to "carry" with you. They must stay in station storage. I also found this out the hard way.

Additionally, I highly recommend this ship for mining. Much bigger cargo (double the one you just posted). Defensively it's pretty shit, but you have mines and two ballistic weapon slots for when you get in the shit. A fighter it really is not. Just get a decent shield and you will be fine. I have two of them dotted about in various stations now I think. You can simply switch the hull in when you want to mine (even more relevant later when you get a better "fighting" ship).

...additionally, just an FYI: you lose all items and cargo that your SHIP is carrying when you die. Anything stored in station storage is safe.

Yes that ship is better but double the price so i will earn a bit of dollar first with the one i got then think about upgrading

So you do have to remember where your ships are bit of an arse and thanks for the heads up on losing inventry when you die will have to make use of station storage

No worries.

You will get 6 grand really quickly (if you haven't already). You only need to do a couple of missions from station commanders to get that kind of amount.

Well chuffed - last night I made over 150,000 doing mining and bought myself a new ship - the DeathBringer. It's awesome! It has 2 level 3 energy weapon hardpoints (fixed forward firing) and 2 level 2 energy hardpoints with about 145 degree tracking. IT. KICKS. ARSE. I also souped up pretty much every bit of equipment on it, to the best I could find.

Forgot to mention last night - might be worth you doing the first lot of Order quests (to become one) first, before anything else, because they give you a free light cruiser (which is actually really good ship) when joining proper. It's a military version of the "Crab" ship - and much better than the one you can buy.

That does look like a nice ship and yes i was going to do the Order quests.  Fucked one up where i had to buy a gun and let slip i was buying it for the Order he told me to piss off Doh!

I got that bigger freighter but i have to be lvl 15 to fly it and i am only 14 nevermind next time

Probably won't be on tonight but maybe tomorrow night

Woopsie, you gone messed up there. You got to get 4 recommendations from Order people to join, I think. I am sure you will find others.

Yeah, that Order ship is good - and it is better than the one on that WIKI page - that's the Civi version, the Order one is actually a lot better and has 2 energy weapon slots (level 2 I think) instead of ballistic ones.

I will be on tomorrow night hopefully - like you (not tonight). Maybe we can group up for some stuff then. I imagine even when just mining, we will be raking in the XP if it is shared. I would like to do some more combat orientated missions now, since I have spent a good chunk of time trading and mining to get dollar together. I would also like to get some science points under my belt and kill some alien scum (not been to an alien system yet).

Yes i have got 2 commendations already and i have a mission to do and get a third one.  Will have to find another officer for my final one. 

We can meet up and do some missions Friday but i don't think i will be much help in combat at the moment until i get that better ship

Cool, sounds good. Once you get your Order Cruiser you will be chewing through enemies - I used that quite a bit myself.

If I download this tonight will I be in any position to be able to play with you guys or am I going to be too far behind?

You can play regardless Greg, but you may be a bit behind now. Still, it doesn't take long to get up to scratch with it. We could even play the escort game for you to venture off into territory with better mining capabilities and the like.

So, the short of it: Yes, you will be a bit behind, but it won't stop us playing.

Jeg i finished the missions to get in the Order and got that ship you were on about but i need to be lvl 30 to get the license and i am only about 25 atm   So i will need a bit of time tonight before we could go to alien systems

Cool, sounds like we have a plan. @Meg - don't worry, you speed through the early levels so quickly, you will be there in no time (an hour tops, I rekon). If combat XP is shared, you could follow me into a system and we can wipe it of Pirates to get some quick XP. Failing that, even mining levels you up fairly quickly too.

XP share would be good, I could just hang about in the background whilst you two blast some. Is it a big download?

It's a really small download, < 1GB, I seem to recall. I know when me and Meg were in the same system, mining XP was definitely shared, so I can only assume that combat XP is shared also.

Good crack on Void Expanse over the weekend. The mining is quite fun and I like how it is a viable way level up. I could not do the mining in the dangerous zones with the freighter, I had to get one of those ship you have Jeg. What else is there to do next time we are all on

Been having a look at some of the mods, which look good. I have seen one which give you fuel drums and a few with some kick as looking ships.
