Not bad, we only hopped on for a couple of games, since I saw G-Man was on (didn't really want to play this by myself as I would get bored of it).

We got a couple of real nice randoms in with us and started chatting with them, got some good tips as well. Played the Mallcrasher one on overkill and aced it (got about 600k for that one) and the nightclub one on very hard.

We found the key to the mallcrasher is not to wait around like Meg said - it only brings on tougher enemies. You want to get it done quickly. To do that, you can pick up gas cans and set fire to shops. We had the level done before any of those big dozer fuckers even spawned.

What you also want to do is the instant you are spotted or put your mask on, go round and put everyone on the floor - and get your hostages. It prevents cops coming for a couple of minutes - which is invaluable as it means you can get the job done before the "big guns" come out. We did that on the nightclub job, running round and sitting everyone down as another guy went for the safe - it works really well.

On all the levels we did, we managed to get in before being spotted - it also saves you some time since you can position yourselves beforehand. You REALLY do need to be less Leeroy on this if you want to get the missions done with efficiency.

I started heading up the tech tree to get a sentry gun and c4 at the same time (and to use c4 to blow up safes) - which I am quite close to now. The guys we were playing with had quite a lot of knowledge on the subject, and helped us choosing missions and the like - mentioning that stealth was the way to go on some of the ones we did.

Superb, some good stuff then. Sounds like everyone is picking up info here and there which will ultimately lead to us getting on with the game. Good times.

I have enjoyed playing it but it has been a little frustrating failing so many missions. I felt we were shooting a little too high on Friday and perhaps could have done with taking a few of the easier missions just to get a little wind in our sails; still no harm done.

Will we be playing this again on Friday do you think or are you guys doing you sward coast thing? This is assuming that everyone can get a pass for Friday as we are out Saturday.

Yes, it's all a learning experience. I should be okay for this Friday - and Payday (Sword Coast comes out a week later).

If you have your wits about you and do things properly, there is nothing stopping us doing the harder missions. I am just not convinced our tactics were quite up to scratch with some of the missions. The cooking one - fair enough, since it's a long-arse mission, but stuff like the Mallcrasher we just had the tactics all wrong. You need to get to that 50k damage ASAP - the gas cans help immensely with this. You don't wanna be sitting around waiting for cops to do the damage - as it takes too long and they start sending in the heavies. Additionally, getting in without being seen and getting into position then setting off all the fires while someone goes round putting civies on the ground helps immensely - since they call for the police later and gives you more time.

I am still really confused on what can be done in casing mode. It seemed to me the only thing you can do is walk around and look at things.

That is basically all you can do. The way we did the Mallcrasher was to get in, have 2 guys go for the gas, two guys go upstairs ready to begin getting hostages and smashing stuff. The gas-guys put their masks on, get the gas and run to the nearest shop to set fire to it. The shops go up in flames and then cover is blown - but you have already done a sizable amount of damage and saved a LOT of time.

For the nightclub one we did something similar, got round the back, put masks on and grabbed gas as we smashed a window and ran in to stop anyone calling the police.

Basically, get as far as you can without the mask and then unleash hell. Other than some perks later down the line, there is not much you can do without the mask on, other than positioning and scouting.

P.S, awesome pictures. That is all you ever see him doing. And the pointing.

Yes we do need to adjust our tic tacs some missions you leroy and go in hard staright away but a lot you need to be a bit more subtle and yes the more you get done with your mask off the better

I had a good game on Saturday night with two high level guys we did rat run on overkill i think and got over 3 million but it was a 3 day mission but loud and leroy just the way i like it

We then tryed a stealth one shadow raid and they said if you get it done you can get up to 8 mil per mission but it was a bitch and i had to go after two failed attempts

We diffinately need to practice stealth also rumour has it if you put an emc jammer on the back of the swat van with the turret it makes it target everyone including the AI but i haven't tried it yet

PS when you can afford it get the P90 as a secondary it is awesome :-)

The turret jamming sounds really useful. May have to try that one on missions that allow it.

Leeroy works on a limited few missions, yes, but it's certainly not what you want to try in the first instance with most maps. You can get things done SO much quicker and easier with a bit of management. What amazed me is that with 2 randoms, me and G-Man got quite organised with the randoms we were playing with - who were nice chaps. It really did shave a lot of time off missions. Missions we were failing repeatedly on hard, we were breezing in a few minutes on overkill.

It seems like this game has some legs to it then. You could play for a good long time and not run out of stuff to do.

Yes and no I suppose - hence why I am not going to play solo - you would get bored of the missions and be so over-powered compared to your teammates.

Also - another thing we found out yesterday was you can buy specific contracts (missions) at the difficulty you specify, using your offshore cash - really handy if you can't find the mission you want at the right difficulty.

I don't know what you mean :-)

Yes good gaming last night got a few more missions done and unlocked the last armour suit

I think i am level 64 but it has really slowed down now so you lot will catch up quick.  Just need to get mods for all my weapons now i have the money but have bad luck with the card game thing

Also been doing some different missions the stealth ones are still a bitch unless you have a good team and don't have some tits on it.  It will be better if all 4 of use do them we can talk on mumble and talk our time no typing 'stop you twat'

Anyone on for Payday tomorrow?

I take it that we have given up on trying to keep the group together - in terms of leveling then. I had deliberately tried not to play without you guys because of that.

It doesn't make any difference if we are different levels

Once your up to about lvl 20-30, have some decent armour and a couple of new weapons from the default ones its all the same

Damage dealt and received doesn't change much its more down to what perks you have or don't have

You see plenty of low lvl players doing hard missions with a couple of higher lvl players, the higher lvl ones just take point

To a point, yes. The odd 10 levels or so is fine, but the difference is absolutely massive now - and getting bigger the more time goes on.

Thing is, I think back to Warframe - a game I liked a lot - and played a fair bit: Because Greg never played it, he was always lagging behind everyone else and used to have digs at me for it. Result was that he stopped playing the game because he couldn't keep up. Fine - I accept my mistake and vowed not to do it again.

Payday 2 (while maybe not quite as severe as Warframe with regards to levelling) is the same kind of thing - people are going to get "left behind". Infact, they already are - and the same thing will end up happening (i.e. Lower level players will have nothing to contribute and so feel like there is no point in playing - and when they do, they will end up being more of a liability that an actual member of the team).

The way I saw it, I thought we agreed not to let this happen again. Infact, when we got Payday this was mentioned. This is why I have severely limited my solo playtime with Payday 2 - and yet here we are doing it again and making the same mistakes.
