Well TCT for that extensive log of your journey so far. It does look good for sure.

So, the bottom line: is it any good and are you enjoying it? Is it worth a sub?

It certainly looks good have to say.

I think it is worth giving the free trail a go you say it was 21 days Greg?

After that you will know if you want to subscribe or not no brainer really :-)

I would say yes. It is very complex, much more so than X3; on the flip side it is much more accessible and the huge scope and complexity is the games biggest draw for me.

I am defiantly going to continue with my character after the trial expires. After a bit you can use the in game money you earn from mining and stuff to buy game time. What most people do is pay for one account, when you make it big you earn enough in game money, start another account for free.

I am doing mining at the moment but I want to head to some more dangerous areas to make more money, this isn’t a good idea with just a mining ship. So when I get enough money I will start a second character to act as escort. The game is designed so you can run it windowed and have multiple games running on one machine, at last a chance to use the dual screens!

Well yackedy yack.

I have to admit, I don't like the idea of running two accounts simultaneously. It sounds more like an RTS than a space game to me :-(

Yea I don’t think it is your cup of tea the more I get into it. As you say there is an element of RTS to it but then again I like that sort of thing. I think Mark might like it, but recommending it feel a bit like recommending on of those really long series programs like Walking dead. You have to put in a lot of time before you know if you like it or not, and if you think its shit, you have wasted your time.

There is no direct control over this ship i.e. you don’t press WASD to move about, which I though initially would be a major turn off for me but the game is so involving with every other aspect that I don’t mind.

Fair enough Greg, I appreciate you "testing the waters" for me anyway. Each to their own. I will definitely be giving it a miss. I hope you enjoy it though - sounds like you do.

TCT for that.

No surprises there. Anything you can throw your money at unnecessarily, and you are a happy boy.

I would certainly not classify it as any unnecessary thing to spend money on, it is probably the best game I have every played.

Haha. Right-o, Greg.

Each - own - and all that, but still; that game is far from the best game ever.

As you say, each to own. But I can’t help but raise a smile at the absolute certainty you can proclaim something to be poor (or indeed good) without having any knowledge of it.
