Actually, there was a lot to like: who doesn't like the dancing aliens, getting stuck in doors, shooting through walls and aliens getting stuck on the smallest obstacle? It was really all just an elaborate joke to have the player laughing along at how "terrible" it was.

I tried this out with the mod the other day and it's a definite improvement. The aliens are now very fast and deadly. They actually climb on ceilings and walls now too. I tried the Hadley's Hope level and get getting killed over and over again. Methinks co-op should be decent now - and you really have to keep your wits about you. If you don't, it's adios machachos. Aliens were even flanking me.

Graphically it looks pretty much how I remember it. Bear in mind Gearbox did release a 4gb texture patch for the PC version anyway, so it looks decent enough. The added effects the mod gives you are a serious FPS hit though. I wouldn't recommend going any higher than "Medium" unless you want a slideshow.

So, anyway, it hold promise.

Well I certainly did enjoy the game a lot more than the last time I played it. But it still could have been so much more.

How much better would it have been if the aliens were fewer but much more badass. It would be so much more engaging if the 3 of us had to creep through the game, one person always having to keep an eye on the motion tracker and when an alien did show up it would make you shit your pants.

I completely agree Greg, but at least we will get a little more life out of it, there is only so much mods can do at the end of the day. Still, a good effort at making it better - and we can always wack up the difficulty if need be.

O yea, don't get me wrong they have done a fantastic job salvaging that much out of the game. It would have been nice to 4 player it some but gout is as gout does I suppose.

Ya, nevermind. Was still good fun even without Sir Gouty of Goutshire.

Have we got any longer term plans for what we will be playing - A:CM isn't exactly a long game by any means. We will probably complete it in the next session.

Or there was that helldivers game that looked kind of fun.

Both of those sound good. Already have Red Solstice, so that would be priority for me until Helldivers is on sale - although that too, looks good.
