Big things happening in the next update - looks awesome.

Summary of features:
- Steam Workshop support for ships
- Alliances to share resources, credits, ships and map exploration
- Better performance (lag reduction upon changing sector)

There is good news and bad news for this update. Feature-wise it looks good, but notice the part that says:

"WARNING: The current version is INCOMPATIBLE with your latest save files. WE WILL ADD BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY to existing saves during the week to ensure that you can use your old saves. You will be able to use your old saves once the update is live on the default branch."

Lot of good stuff there. What do you think, start again or press on when the compatibility patch is out?

I would say wait for the time being. Server is offline for the time being (not a problem since no-one is playing on it), so let's see where the wind takes us. Idealy I would prefer not to start from scratch given the time we have put into it so far (myself and Meg especially).
