So, figured out how you actually make your ship brake worth a damn... inertial dampers. So far only Iron ones can be made, but they greatly help braking speed, regardless of placement. Saves you having humongous thrusters facing forward on all your ships.

Yeah, they are so much better than thrusters for breaking. A ship I was pissing about with went from 20m/s breaking speed up to about 60m/s with a fairly small one attached - and this was a ship that had thrusters freaking everywhere to try and make it break faster. Ended up removing most of the thrusters in the end after I found this out.

Also, I reduced collision damage down to 30% on the server.

Have you had a play about with hangers yet?
I am going to do a redesign and fit lots of cargo capacity. Next time we play if anyone wants to fly eacort I will split the profit of the delivery job.

So I was plodding around exploring the nearby "empty" sectors near where we were on our MP game yesterday when I stumbled into a sector that was empty, save for one huge wreckage. Thought I would go and check it out and by-god was that a good idea. This particular wreck seemed to have lots of glowing green things under thin armour. Once you broke through the armour (which was pretty difficult), the green things gave you massive amounts of Naonite. I picked up about 150k of the stuff in 5 minutes! Think if you come across any of these, it surpasses mining massively.

Salvaging is the way to go - find a scrapyard and pay for a license then go and get shit-tons of resources... seem to get stuff much quicker than mining. If you do happen to come across one of those sectors with nothing in it but a wreck, definitely take a peek too - it's the only one I have seen so far, mind.

You should each find 20k of green in your mailboxes too

So, I looked into giving ships to other players... currently it cannot be done. You can set permissions to allow other players to build on your stuff, but not give the ship to them completely.

This, however, may change in the next update - the "alliances" update, where it looks like players form an alliance to share all resources, credits and ships.

So, for now Meg, I will leave the Green Machine in that sector and hope it doesn't get smashed to pieces by the time the update rolls out, so that we can either add it to our fleet or someone else use it.

I think some disgruntled crew member must have sabotaged the ship before they were transferred because of poor living conditions. Unfortunately for them, it actually made it like a spinning ninja star of death that could dodge and evade everything thrown at it.

At this point, it is more likely to get smashed to bits by an AI trying to dock, I think, given some of the tragic crashes I have seen the AI get into. They don't even bother to try and avoid you if you are docked and they want in. You should see a big ship try and navigate a dense asteroid field - it's frelling hilarious.

I view it as a gift. You get those freshener things you put in the cistern which gives a fresh sent when flushed. My version provides some vegetarian shitty stink with each flush; the gift that keeps on giving.
