Well I think this shows promise. I got a couple of hours in and got most of the mechanics understood - except for crafting, which I am still unsure on.

Day 1

My first in-game day was spent wandering around and trying to figure out the controls. I picked up some food and a baseball bat and ran around smashing windows, climbing inside people's houses and looting. After caving in a few Z-heads I was told I was thirsty. I drank some water from a toilet and all was well. I was then told I was hungry. Searching in a house I found a "TV Dinner", which sounded perfect. I walked over and put it in the oven. While I was waiting for it to cook I read a book. A short time later I came over to the oven only to find I had burnt my TV dinner. The game told me I would get depressed and unhappy should I eat it. I did. I was instantly overwhelmed with depression and told I was tired. I went to sleep on the couch.

Day 2
The next morning I awoke in an unhappy mood. I was playing about with the controls and somehow managed to accelerate time at an alarming rate. After smashing some keys I finally got it back to normal. My character was hungry, thirsty, bored, depressed and tired now. O goodie.

I found a steak and slung it in the oven to cook. I was not going to let this meal burn, so I stood there watching it cook. The instant it was finished I grabbed it and scoffed the whole thing. As is tradition, I washed it down with some toilet water. I was told my character was going to collapse (presumably because he had been awake for about 2 days solid due to the time accelerating-issue). I curled up on the sofa and went to sleep.

Day 4?
I woke up in the middle of the night and could not see a thing. I thought it best I continue with my book in the pitch black, so began reading for a bit. Morning came and I was hungry and thirsty. I searched around the neighbourhood for supplies and came across a packet of cigarettes and some peanut butter. I ate the cigarettes and the peanut butter and sipped some more toilet water. I also found a backpack and various other supplies. I went on a journey north. My mood seemed to change as I smashed Z after Z' head in. My depression lifted and I found new vigour. As the day went on I looted a liquor shop for crisps and ice-cream and broke into a farm house to steal a hammer and nails.

....that's pretty much how my game went so far.

Yeah, was good fun. I enjoyed it and I am sure you will. It's kind of like DayZ, 7 Days to Die and The Sims all mixed into one. Zombies are quite dangerous and if you are caught surrounded by more than 2 of them you are in big trouble (at least if you are only armed with a baseball bat), since it has a fatigue system to prevent you from running around constantly whacking stuff.

I will look into getting a server up so hopefully it will be ready when we have got the basics down.

I had a quick play around on the newly up server last night. I was doing well until one morning when I climbed out of my window to escape a zombie smashing on my door. I ran around to the front of the house and killed the blighter. Then, a horde of about 30 of the swines rushed me. I ran off into the trees, leaving all my loot behind. After scrambling through the trees I came across a church, which I took refuge in for a while.

After a little hiding I tried stealthily making my way back to the house. The bastards were everywhere. I fired off a few rounds from my brand new pistol and they rushed me again. I managed to outrun them but wasn't in good shape. This is pretty much where I left it.

Basically, I spent 2 hours collecting loot and stashing it in "my house", then had to abandon the lot. :-(

That sucks balls, perhaps with a few of us we could split the pack a bit and dispatch them silently.
Do you know if the enemy numbers scale with the number of players?

Yes, may require some diversionary tactics to lure them away I think. Bastards. I was going to have some bacon that night too! I ended up eating a banana I had lying around instead. It's just badong.

Without doing any reading, I don't know about zombie strength based on players. I DO know that things get harder as time goes on, but quite what is meant by that I am unsure. I can do a bit of research, but didn't want to spoil too much at this point.

Myself and G-Man hopped on this last night. We managed to get some planks of wood together and began messing about with crafting. Turns out you can smash doors up for wood planks, and this is probably how cutting down trees works as well.

Dyson was complaining about his health rapidly being depleted. Like any astute survivor I stood behind him with crowbar raised, incase he turned. He fell to the floor and died from the zombie scratch. I wrote of his epic journey in a book you can now find at the house.

On another note, it seems the electric has been cut off now, which could further heed our progress. All the food we collected in the fridge is rotten and the cooker no longer works!
