I am thinking of getting this tonight, what are you guys thoughts on it?

Only down side looks to be the lack of multiplayer, but I did read that it is a possible future addition.

Yeah, does look good. Reviews I have read are encouraging as well.

Anyway, just thought I would mention it because it's on sale with 25% off at the moment - and has been on my wishlist for a good few months.

I got this one over the weekend and rather like it. It's a mix between Freelancer and X3. You can command fleets, hire wingmen, level up skills, buy massive battleships, trade, do missions - all the usual.

The focus here is on large ship battles - and with many ships, rather than smaller dogfigthing. Your starting ship is fairly large, and some of the stuff I have seen to buy looks cool. You can even board enemy ships and take control of them, or tractor ships back to stations to sell them.

It looks lovely, but does seem to suffer from some performance issues. Putting the lengthy loading screens aside, I frequently experienced 0FPS drops when entering new sectors (occurrs quite often), which is a royal pain in the ass - especially if it happens to be a wing of enemy fighters.

It's still beta, but if they can fix the issues above, it will be a brilliant game.

About bloody time. I had almost given up hope ;-)

Well, I recommend Batman be your next try (as you have that already and it's one of the best games evvaaaaaa). I would recommend SG2, as it's very good - but the performance issues are really annoying, so maybe wait until they have fixed that first. It's a lot like Darkstar One too, if we are comparing - but a lot better.

This has been released proper and is now no longer early access! Good stuff! Think I will have to give this another whirl, as it was brilliant even in early access.

I played a bit of this last night and updated my Steam review. This is a copy-paste for you guys, incase you are interested:

The game is a mix between Freelancer and X3. You can command fleets, hire wingmen, level up skills, buy massive battleships, trade, do missions. It's a lot like Darkstar One too, if we are comparing - but a lot better.

The focus here is on large ship battles - and with many ships, rather than smaller dogfigthing. Your starting ship is fairly large ( gunship), and some of the stuff I have seen to buy looks cool. You can climb the ranks and get battleships, dreadnoughts and the like, and command officers and mercs to help you out in battle, either on your own ship or as a wingman. You can even board enemy ships and take control of them, or tractor ships back to stations to sell them.

It looks lovely and has a massive open map to explore, complete with anomalies, slipstreams, wormholes, gates, planets, stations asteroid fields, nebula etc. - all you would come to expect from such a game and more.

The campaign is basic, but enjoyable. The voice-acting is absolutely atrocious though - the accents are all over the place. This aside though, it's difficult to find fault in it. You also have the option to free-roam, doing missions as they come along, trading or becoming a pirate. It has a complete reputation and trading system, allowing you to become anything you want.

Jimbo Rating: 7/10

No multiplayer - single only - much like DS1 and X3. People have asked this question and they say that they *may* add multiplayer, if it's doable in the future.

I wouldn't bank on it Greg. I also wouldn't skip it just because it is not multiplayer, but each=own.
