Although not something I would end up buying (as you require like, 6 people in the same room to play it, this Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator game looks quite interesting.

It works by hooking up several PC's in a LAN to each act as a different terminal on the bridge, and you all need to work together at the different terminals, doing different things.

Weird, but inventive!

I know what you mean - I had no intention of buying it, but it is still quite innovative.
