Looks like someone has started up a Greelight project to get Alien Swarm properly sorted for first person. Looks interesting.

I personally, would prefer to see the game expanded upon more as it is. I don't mind the top-down view. In-fact, I quite like it. It would be nice to see some more development on campaigns and other stuff. But, hey-ho. There ya go.
