It is actually happening: due to overwhelming response against the terrible auction house, they are shutting it down.

I cannot help but think this comes a little late in the day, but hats off to them for finally doing it.

Looks like the community is very pleased with this. The forums are alight with congrats! Gotta admit, I think it's a great move. Shame it will be coming too late IMHO. March next year I believe is the switch-off date.

This comes with the addition of a complete overhaul of the current loot system

Maybe the expansion is worth getting after-all...
