I have been yearning to play a decent space game since Freelancer. What with Star Citizen just a little spec on the horizon, I wondered if it was worth starting up our Discovery Freelancer server again. If so, we can get Greg and Dyson on it too. May even be fun.

So - Greg and Dyson: would you play it or is this a lost cause?

I'm sure there is, but nothing that grabs me at the moment that I can think of.

I had a go at it a while back but it didn’t really grab my attention. The 3rd person and lack of joystick support peeved me a bit.

I could be convinced to give it another go I suppose.

Although joystick support is (I think), non-existent - it does have cockpit view for all ships. So you do not need to play in 3rd person.

Did you try the Discovery Mod for it, or just vanilla? I ask because the mod adds tons of new stuff such as battleships, missions, ships and loads of new systems etc.

It was just the out of the box version you gave to me whilst at the mighty Brantham. 

What about EVE online?

Well it's worth a shot Greg. If you, me, Maximus and Dyson were on it could entertain for a while, I'm sure.

As for EVE I have never played it. It's subscription based isn't it?
