Thought I would start a forum topic on this new upcoming game after Greg mentioned it to me as it looks pretty damn awesome.

Check out the official page for this upcoming zombie survival game to get some information on how cool it looks!

Me thinks this is the Walking Dead of zombie games. I think I will be purchasing :-)

Had a quick quack at this last night and I really enjoyed it. They have slightly over blown the ‘build your own base’ thing it seems. As far as I can work out that involves putting a tent and a paddling pool in the back of a church. Some of the finer points were harder to work out as the demo was times to one hour but it provide a good flavour:

- 3.0rd (not the kind of) person.

- Upgradable characters.

- Characters are not super human and have realistic (sort of) stamina so you can’t fight off hordes of zombies.

- Sneaking around is much more beneficial than charging about.

- You can change between characters; however, if you leave a highly levelled up character in a stronghold and someone in there turns or a horde overruns the place, they be dead.

- The items you store in the strongholds add to the ‘influence’ figure. The better stuff you have the more influence you have to get people to join you. This is particularly interesting as it poses a dilemma with regards to high end items: do you leave them behind to boost your influence should you find a survivor or take them with you to make a supply run easier.

- Vehicles are available to get around the very large map.

- Supply runs are very tense and a lot of fun.

That’s about all I got from it but I will probably buy it soon and have a more in depth quack at it.

Thankyou cheers tar for that Greg. Well it sounds like you enjoyed it. The multiplayer on it sounds promising then? I will keep my eye on this one. Any idea when it comes to PC?

The coop feature was going to depend on how well the game did. As it turns out it is the biggest selling game on X-box live so far after one day so there basically had a to say the coop feature was in the pipe line.

As for the PC version, not sure when it’s going to be about but looking at the game I don’t think the conversion would be too massive.

So how many people can play in co-op mode for this then? And how does it work - is it like GTA multiplayer where you can go anywhere and do anything or are there set missions and stuff - like L4D?

As far as I know it’s going to be two player. As for missions I think it will just be like the normal game i.e. sandbox with a core story line to follow if you so wish.

Cool. I like the idea of sandbox style play, but only 2.0 players is a shame.

From the articles I have been reading, PC release is not coming anytime soon. Who knows!

I have been enjoying this game with the exception of one rather annoying feature:

When you turn the game off and then come back to it the next day or whatever, the system simulates that time has elapsed in the intervening period i.e. events have occurred, resources have been used/ gathered.

This is all well and good apart from every time I go back onto the game, at least two characters have pointlessly killed themselves, no one has bothered to gather any resources and there are zombies walking around my ‘home’.

Honestly you two would be more use than the tossers in the game.

Well thankyou cheers tar for that. That seems a bit annoying. Is there no way to turn that "feature" off cause if you don't play the game for a while you could end up up a certain creek with no paddle

I think it is being addressed in a patch but I don’t think you can turn the adoption off.

What do you mean by it being addressed? What exactly are they doing? I am curious because this could be a deal breaker for me - I like to switch between games often to ensure I do not get bored. It sounds like doing so with this game would be fatal.

I think they are making it so the main characters (i.e. the ones that you have enough ‘friendship’ with to control) cannot die when the game is inactive.

I believe events such as mission opportunities (all of which have an expiry time apart from the main quest items) will still come and go and the stockpile will fluctuate; hopefully up as well as down.

Hmmm. I think I would prefer to be able to turn this off, or at least have it stop doing it after a period of time, say a week and then it pauses / stops the game for you.

I don't like the idea of coming back from a week holiday only to find 50-odd hours of gameplay was wasted because all the characters died while I was away. As you would say Greg: "It's Gay".

This does sound like a weird way of doing it.

I will have to see how they sort it out before i consider this one.  It might all be sorted out by the time it comes out on the proper platform :-)
