After we were talking about it last games night, I did a bit of searching...

Links removed.

You'll need to scroll down to find it, it's the 4th one, 1.1mb

Hud fix for widescreen
You only need the .dll for the hud fix - this sorts out the stretching of the hud seeing as halo was designed with 4:3 resolutions primarily, old skool!

Video explanation of the above
, also info for adding resolution and FPS arguments in a shortcut target

I don't know how long they'll be available for, Jim, maybe if you think it's worth it, rehost the files on the server?

Not particularly smart to post links to pirate games up here.

As for Halo itself, I have the pc version of the game and never really thought much of it. Thought it was severely overhyped for what was a pretty generic Sci-fi shooter.

O dear on to the naughty step with you expon !!!!

As for Halo is was awesome Jeg one of the first real co-op shooters but it is old i think it came out in 2000 so you have to bear that in mind.

Not sure what Halo 5 is like but you can bet it is very consoley

Meh. Never really clicked with me. It was sub par in most regards. It was also not the first co-op shooter, not even close. It may have been so big because it was an Xbox release title though.

oopa. bad expon. I just figured, no one would really care now, seeing as it's unavailable for sale anywhere...

I just gave it a go again, the AI is so good, maybe not cover to cover good, but in combat it uses strafe, the enemies with shields fall back to recharge, give you a cheeky melee if you do the same and can't finish them off.

it's also one of the only games I can think of that promotes such a high use of grenades, so many games make them so rare I forget to use them half the time, or fear using them and won't be able to find more. It's also the only game I can think of where grenades dropped by NPC can be detonated by another grenade - massive kill zones and flying corpses in confined corridors on the covenant ships!

Think it was something like 2003 when it came out, the textures and general level detail if quite sparse now, but the engine still works well. each to their own, as we were saying friday, after the first one, despite playing them back to back, back in the day, didn't know what was going on!

I wouldn't mind giving it a go at some point. After all, remember bowl hammers motto "we deliver"...for some reason.
