An interesting read. Looks like this project could really be heading in the same direction as No Man's Sky. It will now be released as a "MVP" - Minimum Viable Product - if it ever actually even gets that far. I have a feeling the backlash is going to hit this hard. What with all the never ending stretch goals, lies, changes in TOS, refunds etc... it's not looking particularly good.

our IT manager spunked £250 or so to these people.

biggest video game scam I can think of since, forever? those videos are just hilarious, engine looks better than space engineers, but it seems like a concept, albeit a 5 year, $115k concept

just, wow. you guys know anyone that put into this?

What a tit. I am amazed how much they raised and are so far behind schedule now that it is becoming a joke. All these tens of millions of dollars and it just seems a complete mess.

I think one ship can cost about £300 so I am sure there are plenty of people that have tipped even more than that after the game.

That's insane. What a frelling scam. I was looking forward to this as well. Seems it turned into a pay-to-win MMO

It's such a shame about this game i was hoping it was going to be awesome and a true successor to Freelancer but instead it has developed into an epic fail.

Hopefully it can be rescued into a decent game but it doesn't look likely at the moment :-(

Yeah, I wouldn't get my hopes up with it. It's going the way of No Man's Sky by the looks of things (down the bog).

Looks like the entire thing is a write off.

Yes it does seem that way. It' been nothing but bad news for years now.

Another interesting one. What a shitstorm.

Some highlights (promises made that have been broken):
- No dedicated server
- It is pay to win
- Not moddable
- No drop-in, drop-out co-op

And another good read.

You would not think it was that hard to make a game when you are given so much money.

Think that's the problem. Feature creep and a lead dev that doesn't know when to say "no" and/or stop. He's completely lost the plot.
