WARNING: Potential Spoilers

This thread may contain spoilers if you have not been keeping up with the recent series!

Continue reading at your own risk!

Quite why I haven't created a topic on this yet is strange - as it's so frelling good.

Anyway, as you have read the books Greg, I wonder if you could answer something for me without giving away any spoilers

1. Where the hell is Theon being held - and by who? Someone under Rob's banner I guessed - but it has been extremely vague about it.
2. Why is he there? For betraying Rob? Or is there a deeper motive?

Game of Thrones is epic.

Theon is being held by Lord Bolton's bastard in Lord Boltons castle i think can't remember or maybe it's his own Castle.

The Bastard was married to some old widow and got her castle and lands. After the wedding he locked her in a tower until so starved to death. Not before she eat her own fingers the Bastard is nice like that.

He has Theon as he was the closest Stark bannerman to Winterfall he was tasked with recapturing it and capturing Theon. He is being held for betraying Rob but don't forget he is the air to the Iron Islands and yes there is a deeper motive.

Thank you cheers tar for that

But his dad hates him, and I am not even sure Theon knows what he wants any more. Sounded to me like he regretted destroying Winterfell.

Yes but his Dad is dead isn't he Melisandra did her vodoo shit and threw him off one of the bridges on Pike. So he is the King of the Iron Islands technically.

He does regret it he only did it to impress his old man and he still hated him and is now is dead so it was pointless

No you found that out at the end of season two.

Melisandra promised she would rid Stannis of his 3 rivals for the throne of Westros.

Renly Baratheon, Rob Stark and Balon Greyjoy. She killed Renly in his tent pushed Balon off a bridge but didn't kill Rob. Stannis says what about Rob and she says he must have patience.

This was all in book 2 i am sure in was in the TV programm too if not i am sorry.

She did indeed say that, but so far we have only seen her kill Renley. His dad dieing has not yet been done - come on you watched series 2 - I lent it to you!

In series 3, she has come to Westeros and met up with the "Brotherhood" that is holding the Hound but thus far, no more deaths on her shoulders yet.

I have it all saved to watch I just haven't got round to it yet. The Monty python box set has overpowered it for the time being.

Also, what about the bleedin' Lannister's then! Surely is there is an enemy of Stannis that needs removing, it's them first! Joffre is sitting on the throne!

Granted their first attempt did not end well I suppose. In-fact, she didn't come along as the Onion Knight said for her not too. I imagine if she did it would have been an entirely different story.

In short: ignore everything I just said above :-) - I think I just answered my own question.

Joffrey is a bastard of incest not a Baratheon therefore has no legitimate claim to the throne even though he is sat on it

True, but he is there none-the-less. And everyone seems quite content to let the little shite sit there even though they all know that. Tywin knows, Cerci and Jaime obviously does, Tyrian does - I think even Joffre himself knows but because he is a power-hungry ****, he is not going to give up the throne.

My point being, whether his claim to it is legit or not (NOT), he is still there and Stannis' biggest enemy. I thought Stannis was loyal to the Starks anyway, afterall it was Ned who sent the letter to him telling him about Joffre. He seemed to like Ned - calling him an honourable man.

He did like Rob's Dad but he thinks he is the rightfull king and everone should follow him.

He also can't take on the Lannister's on his own he needs the North men, the South men and the men from Pike to all join under his banner but they have their own little kings now.

So he needs to get rid of those 3 leaving him with one big army to take on the Lannisters.

But it was only him vs Kings Landing in the battle at Blackwater. Okay, the Tyrells bailed the Lannisters out - but the "other 3" families you mentioned were not involved at all and he still got butt-humped.

EDIT: Come to think of it, was it even the Tyrells that bailed them out (I cant remember)? Was it not Tywin and his army that came to help in the end?

Yes he did get his ass handed to him at Blackwater didn't he :-)

That was Stannis and Renly's army remember he got it after Renly was killed but the Highgarden section of the army left and didn't follow Stannis.

So you could say it was a Baratheon army against Lannister's at Kings Landing. Which was defeated by Lord Tywin's army but they were joined by the Highgarden army lead by the batty boy knight.

The Stark army was at Riverhall and the Iron Island army was still in the North and raiding the coasts.

However once Stannis took Storms End he felt he had to march on Kings Landing without waiting for the Starks or the Greyjoys and Melisandra told him he would succeed the Red god was with him.

Maybe you should change the name of this thread to add spoiler alert as if you haven't seen any of them this does tell a lot.

Spoiler warning added!

Ah yes, I forgot about that half of Renly's army! That Red Woman is a strange one for sure. She did say Stannis would succeed, but did not stipulate whether that would be if she was not there (her excuse for not winning I believe). And now she seems to have taken an interest in the guy from the Brotherhood that "heals people from death" ;-). DON'T SAY ANYTHING as this is as far as the series has got with that storyline.

Got to say I am really enjoying Jaime's (and Brelana's or how ever the hell you spell it) storyline at the moment. You actually start to feel sorry for him!

And Joffre (the evil little twonk) killed poor Ros! Littlefinger really wants Catyln bad doesn't he!
